The itsy bitsy mirror went out into the trash....

Or, something like that. We don't really throw much in the trash. The itsy bitsy mirror is likely going to get a coat of spray paint (white, grey, or who knows maybe something brighter) and get a new home in another room. But, long story short... here was our bathroom with an old mirror that we had laying around.
The other very clear problem here, besides that this mirror was a little too rough looking for this rather sleek bathroom, was that we ended up only using one sink. Why did we pay for that gorgeous granite countertop and double sink only to try to squeeze next to each other brushing teeth or brushing hair so we could both see ourselves in the mirror. We thought about many solutions.... having a custom piece of glass cut to fit around the light fixtures... getting two thinner mirrors and individually placing them above our sink... or just measuring the space we had and seeing what we could find. We took a trip to Marshall's Home Goods (my fav). Almost immediately, we found a mirror that fit the space, the style, and the price ($49) we wanted. We weren't totally sold yet though, so we slyly hid the mirror behind some other things in the store and kept looking. After 20 minutes, and not a single other item found (a rarity for me in Home Goods), we returned to our mirror. It was still there, peeping out from beneath the pile of mirrors we hid it behind. We easily scooped it up Jamie picked it up since it wouldn't fit in the cart, and we brought our new friend home. It took us a few days to hang her up, but I love her. Here she is in all her glory:
I love how the dark color is complimented with the lighter flecks in it. It looks sort of farm-house-ish while still looking modern enough for this bathroom. Please excuse the reflection of our linen closet (and our tool kit that lives in there for now). But, ahhhh much better. And a cheap fix. And Thank You big time, J, for hanging this one while I was at work! What a nice surprise to come home to this being hung.

So that's one of our mini-makeovers that has gone well. We are really happy with how she looks, thank goodness. And now we can finish the final touches of that bathroom (yep, we still have to repaint the ceiling and finish some of the trim work). There you have it, our newest mini project :)
